My daughter is an artist. She made this magnet for me last year as a Christmas gift. And I truly love it! The gift was a very sweet thing for her to make me. And it was also a creative gift, utilizing her skills as an artist.

But yesterday, I was looking at the magnet on my frig, and it struck me in a different way.

This is how my daughter sees me, her mom.

She sees me as a mathematician and a runner and a nerd....and the list goes on.

I didn't tell her to make the list. She came up with the words herself. It made me very proud that she see the wholeness of me. I am her mom AND I am a lot other things too.

I am a feminist. I have raised her to be a feminist, and I think it worked.

And really, I am a nerd. I've always been a nerd. And so, it felt right that I scored a 100% A+ on this assignment!
